The Story

Walther PDP

The Performance Duty Pistol is Walther's modern flagship — and one of the newest, most ergonomic handguns on the market. Walther, founded in 1886, is the company that built the iconic PPK (James Bond's pistol) and the legendary P38.

The PDP carries that legacy forward with cutting-edge features: optic-ready slides, the aggressive new "Performance Duty Texture" grip, and the smoothest factory trigger Walther has ever produced.

New shooters consistently report that the PDP "just fits" — Walther reshaped the grip after years of ergonomic research. The SuperTerrain slide serrations extend slightly above the slide surface, making manipulation effortless even with sweaty or gloved hands.

The PDP's trigger has a measured pre-travel of just 0.13 inches — among the shortest of any production striker-fired pistol — giving it a feel closer to a tuned 1911 than a typical duty pistol.

★★★★★

The PDP trigger is exactly what Walther promised — short, light, consistent. Felt like a purpose-built competition pistol straight from the factory. Best striker-fired trigger I've fired outside of custom work.

Lukas B. · Stuttgart
★★★★★

The ergonomic grip on the PDP is genuinely exceptional — it fills the hand in a way that feels purpose-designed for both large and medium hands. Put six shots in a 3-inch group from 15 metres first try.

Sarah M. · Toronto
★★★★★

Fired the PPQ and the PDP back to back. The PDP is a clear evolution — the grip texture, the sight radius, the trigger reset. Walther has raised the bar with this one.
