The Vepr-1 is Molot's hunting-configured rifle on the heavy RPK receiver — built for serious big-game hunters in the vast Russian wilderness, where shooters routinely face boar, bear, and elk.

The combination of an indestructible action and a powerful full-size cartridge makes it a favorite of professional Russian hunters working in conditions where rifle failure is not an option.
