Frequently asked questions
25 answers on prices, booking, safety, bringing your own firearm and events. If you cannot find the answer — call or write, and we will reply within one business day.
What are your opening hours?
We work by advance booking only. Bookings run Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–20:00. The range is closed on Mondays.
What is the minimum age for shooting?
With real firearms — from 18, or from 12 under a parent's supervision. The SimWay digital simulator is available from age 7, which makes it a safe format for the whole family.
Do I need previous experience?
No. Most of our guests are holding a firearm for the first time. A certified instructor takes you through safety, stance and technique one-to-one before a single shot is fired.
What languages is the briefing in?
Briefing and service run in Latvian, English and Russian — convenient for international teams and visitors from abroad.
Where are you, and is there parking?
Daugavgrīvas iela 29A, Riga — a few minutes' drive from the Old Town across the Vanšu bridge. There is free parking on site for both cars and coaches.
Can I buy ammunition or a firearm from you?
Yes — firearms and ammunition are available in the shop at the range (buying a firearm requires a valid licence). Accessories for hunting, camping and the outdoors can be ordered with delivery from our online shop.
What is SimWay, and who is it for?
SimWay is the world's leading digital shooting simulator, available in Latvia only at our range. From age 7, from €20 per person — ideal for families, children and anyone who wants to try shooting without live ammunition.
What does shooting cost?
The minimum spend is €50. A pistol round starts at €1.50, long-barrel rounds run from €1.50 to €5; the minimum is 5 shots per firearm. Per-firearm prices are on the arsenal page. The best value is a package with an instructor — from €65 per person.
Which packages are available?
Delta — €65 (3 firearms, 30 min), Bravo — €90 (5 firearms, 45 min), Alpha — €110 (7 firearms, 45 min) and Couple — €70 for two (45 min). Every package includes the instructor, ear protection, safety glasses and targets. The full list is on the prices page.
How long does a visit take?
It depends on the package — from 30 minutes (Delta) to 45 minutes for the larger ones, and longer for events. For groups the time is planned in shifts so nobody stands waiting.
How can I pay?
Cash, card, or bank transfer (for companies — against an invoice).
Are there special terms for large groups?
Yes. We host up to 30 people in a single event, running the shooting in shifts across the galleries; larger groups by arrangement. Groups get an individual quote — describe your event and we will reply within 24 hours.
If several of us come, does each person book separately?
No — one booking covers the whole group. A single instructor can look after up to 6 people at once; larger groups shoot in shifts.
Can people watch and cheer on the person shooting?
Yes — spectators are welcome. While shooting is under way a spectator must stay in the safe area the instructor points out. Not everyone in the group has to shoot.
Can I take photos and video?
Yes — following the instructor's directions, photos and video are fine. You can take your punched targets home as a souvenir.
Can I shoot with my own firearm?
Yes — bring a valid identity document, your storage/carry permit, and a firearm registered with the State Police and entered on that permit. For training, the best value is gallery rental.
Can I use GunRange.lv ammunition with my own firearm?
No, that is not permitted — with your own firearm you may only use your own ammunition.
May I teach someone else to shoot with my firearm?
You may — handing your firearm and ammunition to another person requires a certified instructor to be present.
What does renting a gallery for training cost?
€25 an hour for the first person, +€10 for each additional person on the same lane (up to 4). Choose the 10, 20 or 25 metre gallery — descriptions and calibres here.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes! A digital gift card can be bought online and arrives by email instantly; a physical one is collected at the range. The minimum is €60, and the card is valid across everything we do: packages, training, SimWay and events.
Do you host corporate events?
Yes — team building, corporate and Christmas parties, client entertainment. On site there is a conference room for 20 people, a VIP gallery and optional catering; company invoicing is available. More here.
Do you run stag, hen and birthday parties?
What do I need in order to shoot?
An identity document — a passport or ID card. A driving licence is not an identity document. Every member of the group needs to bring one.
Can I drink alcohol before shooting?
No — alcohol and other intoxicating substances are strictly forbidden before and during shooting. Guests under the influence are not allowed on the line. Range first, bar afterwards. The full rules are here.
How safe is shooting for a beginner?
Very safe — it has been our first priority since 2014. A certified instructor is beside you from the first shot to the last, ear protection and safety glasses are mandatory and included in the price, and nothing happens except on the instructor's command.
